The Baltimore Police Department - Those Were the Days Paperback – November 4, 2021

This is the second book I have written about my life, focusing on the Baltimore City Police Department. The first book centered on my experiences as I lived them from "behind the badge." The title of that book is My Twenty-five Years Behind the Badge." It was well received and with many positive comments from those who read it.Source material for this book is newsletters published and distributed by the Baltimore Police Department, my memorabilia collected throughout my police career, public records, the Baltimore City Police Museum website, and conversation with colleagues from the Department.This book distills thoughts from the writer's twenty-five years as a Baltimore City Police Officer and many of the incidents he was involved with, supervised, or witnessed.This is not a tell-all book but gives the reader a behind-the-scenes look at police work that often is not discussed publicly, somewhat only in station-houses and patrol cars.The book will not talk about the mangled bodies resulting from serious accidents, decomposed bodies, abused children, shooting victims, or any of the other gruesome things a police officer sees regularly. Having worked the streets of Baltimore for many years, I have seen it all; murder suspects arrested; rapists captured; robbers and burglars caught in the act and bank robbers charged; floods, snowstorms, and riots were all a part of the writers' career. These are the activities many police officers refer to as "real police work." Read more
